Instructors
Studio West dance instructors must complete a very strict training regimen. They must have extensive experience on the dance floor in addition to possessing the educational techniques necessary to teach the current popular dances.
At Studio West we make dancing our business, which means more than knowing a couple of steps (or dance patterns). In order to be certified, an instructor must show proficient knowledge in being able to breakdown ALL dances and dance patterns to their basic component parts.
Our instructors have an in depth knowledge of music and how to break down music in several different ways to make their student understand what parts of the music they dance to, and why.In addition, our instructors teach the fundamental principles of leading and following skills. Skills that every dancer will need to know in order to look natural, be able to respond quickly to their partner, and ultimately have fun dancing to any and all dances.
